Abstract
    Female yellowtail flounder were manipulated using photoperiod and thermal cues. Two groups were held under identical environmental conditions with one of the groups receiving a sustained release GnRH-a cholesterol pellet, the other receiving a blank pellet. First ovulation was observed 3.5 months earlier in the environmentally manipulated group given the hormone preparation than the unmanipulated broodstock. The environmentally manipulated sham control group spawned only 2 weeks prior to the unmanipulated broodstock fish. Egg quality parameters were similar for all treatments.
