Abstract
Female triploids were fed estradiol-17 beta (E sub(2)) (30-80mg E sub(2)/kg feed) for 32 weeks. Growth rates of E sub(2)-treated triploids were similar to diploid controls but significantly less than triploid controls. Both hematocrit and hemoglobin levels of E sub(2)-treated triploids were significantly lower than controls. E sub(2)-treated triploids maintained plasma estradiol levels similar to control triploids, but did show secondary sex characteristics. Sacrificed E sub(2)-treated and control triploids showed no oocyte differences
