Abstract
Global changes to marine systems will largely be experienced by humans through changing fisheries and seafood supply. The chapters in this section of the book focus on four components that are important for projecting the future contributions and sustainability of fish stocks to food security, safety, and human health. These components are (1) fisheries management, (2) fisheries and food supply, (3) security and safety in seafood production, and (4) seafood and human well-being. We summarize the key messages of the chapters in this section and offer a synthesis of how these chapters contribute to projecting future scenarios for fisheries, seafood supply, and security under changing oceans. Finally, we identify key areas that will require additional information to inform the development of pathways for sustainable future oceans.
