Abstract
Molecular studies have been initiated to characterise cathepsins B and L, and lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in the rainbow trout, with a view to determining their patterns of expression during oogenesis (and in turn, their functional roles). Partial cDNA sequences for cathepsin B and LPL (5'-ends of the mRNA transcripts) and the full cathepsin L cDNA sequence have been successfully cloned and sequenced from vitellogenic ovaries and are reported here.
