Abstract
Although the effect of photoperiod on gilthead seabream reproduction is well documented the effect of temperature is not. In this work two experiments were performed (1996-97 and 1997-98) to study the effect of water temperature during summer on seabream male reproduction. Results suggest that in August-September the optimal temperature for the onset of spermiation is 19-22 degree C.
