| Abstract |
The taxonomy of the species complex of Eclogavena coxeni (Cox, 1873) is discussed. BERGONZONI (2016) proposes six different subspecies and forms within this species complex. LORENZ (2017) takes over this classification, but splits the complex into three valid species: Eclogavena coxeni (COX, 1873), E. hesperina (SCHILDER & SUMMERS, 1963) and E. steineri (GATE, 1969). The use and validity of the names is checked bycomparison with the holotypes. This comparison leads to the description of a new subspecies Eclogavena coxeni salomonica n. ssp. |
