| Abstract |
A general survey of plant and animal communities from littoral and sublittoral rocky and soft bottom habitats was carried in Bilbao Harbour (N. Spain) during the years 1983-84. The study was part of an oceanographic project of research in this estuary, whose aim was to provide the basis for an explanation of their behaviour in relation to environmental conditions and pollution of this area. After the description of the methodology used, twenty different communities are characterized and discussed in relation to these conditions. |
