Abstract
    The larval shells of Teredo pedicellata Quatrefages were studied using the scanning electron microscope. The morphological evolution of the hange was observed up to the stage just prior to metamorphosis. These observations shed new light on the systematic position of Teredo pedicellata Quatrefages.
