Abstract
    In a population of Ophryotrocha puerilis siberti collected from Roscoff, the effects of inbreeding on viability, fertility and some other characters related to its life cycle, were evaluated from viability and fertility depression in generations with 0.25 and 0.37 values for F coefficients. The magnitude of the hidden genetic variability so estimated seems not negligible. Some inferences are drawn about the functional relationships between all the characters studied and the fitness of this population.
