Abstract
    The immersed surface of the floating metal tanks of the newly constructed harbor at Lezardrieux is covered with a rich epifauna. The population of Spirographis spallanzani Viviani seems to be distributed over two years. There is little difference in the length of the tube and the number of segments between the one and the two year old animals but the diameter of the opening and the fixed weight increases in the older animals. Sycon ciliatum Fabricius are numerous and reach the unusual length of 70 cm long. Ciona intestinalis (L.) density exceeds 2000 animals by m SUP-2 . The description given here points out the likely reasons for such a settlement of animal populations and suggests the great interest in the study of the life cycle time of these species, living in their natural area.
