Abstract
    H. appendiculatus has been found in samples collected in the D. S. L. of the Mediterranean Sea. The study of several specimens (57) has allowed the description of the male, female and of the epicaridean stage not yet described. On the basis of previous studies and the present one, the authors believe that the gen may include more spp than H. appendiculatus only.
