| Abstract |
Observations of 4 spp of marine coccolithophorids belonging to the genera Hymenomonas and Ochroaphaera were carried out on cultured material: Hymenomonas carterae, H. sp. no 400-406 (Plymouth Laboratory), H. roseola, O. verrucosa. Whatever the sp of Hymenomonas observed in pure culture, cells covered with coccoliths of Ochrosphaera type appeared in the clone. On the other hand, in cultures started from newly obtained Ochrosphaera cells belonging to Hymenomonas carterae only appeared. The author also observed the effects produced by addition of various products in the culture medium; and have modified the quantities of phosphates given to the algae. |
