Abstract
    An experimental study carried out on calcite crystal colonization by marine biota indicates: (1) quick colonization by endolithic Cyanophyceae and the boring rate on calcareous substrate; (2) the morphology of the bored tunnels in terms of spp, substrates microstructure and specific control done by the algae at the substrate level; (3) the boring process of endolithic Cyanophyceae by carbonate dissolution resulting from a chemical effect (acid of chelation) showing importance of biodestruction).
