Abstract
The timing of sexual differentiation was investigated in Atlantic halibut, in order to explore the possibilities of producing all-female populations using hormonal applications. Using histological techniques, anatomical differentiation of the ovaries was observed to have occurred prior to 38.0 mm fork length (FL), which coincides with post-metamorphosis and settlement in the life history of this species. Cytological differentiation of germ cells has yet to be seen in samples examined
