Abstract
We report the first sightings of the semi-slug Vitrinobrachium breve for Belgium. Along with the recent records in France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and the western German states, our records considerably widen the distribution range north of the Alps. We discuss why this expansion could be apparent due to the species having been previously overlooked and the role of citizen science in the detection of previously overlooked species.
