Abstract
    A check-list is given of the 27 hydroids now known from the Chatham Islands area. Twenty-five of these are new records for the Chatham Islands. All, except two species are known from New Zealand mainland waters, and there is a striking similarity between the Chatham Island fauna and that known from the mainland Cookian province. The conclusion reached is that it is not possible from the known species to recognise a distinctive Chatham Island hydroid fauna.
