Abstract
    Microphos, a new genus for a small photinoid species, is described based on conchological differences with Phos Montfort, 1810. Type species of this new genus is the also newly introduced Microphos palogai sp. nov., a species from the Philippines. It is compared withPhos miculus (Fraussen & Poppe, 2005).
