Abstract
    Two major biogeographical events are put in a prominent position in the loess series of Achenheim (Alsace). They are related to the variations of the composition of the pleniglacial biomes. The presence of P. loessica at Achenheim coincides with the expansion of the loess steppe to the West. The disappearance of V. tenuilabris at the end of the next to last climatic cycle is related to the connection of Alsace to the North-Western Europe province.
