Abstract
    Methodologies, results and resources required are described for a presence/absence survey, a distribution mapping survey, population estimation and a monitoring programme for Vertigo angustior in a fixed dune system in the west of Ireland. The macrohabitats and microhabitats favoured by the species are discussed, particularly in relation to population estimation. Results also showed that V. angustior was successfully translocated into an area of reconstructed dune.
