| Abstract |
The community of mobile benthic macroinvertebrates at Punta de San Lorenzo, province of Santa Elena was analyzed. The samplings made in the intertidal strata (supralittoral, mesolitoral and infralittoral), during July - December 2017, registered 7 648 individuals and identified three phylas (Mollusca, Echinodermata and Arthropoda), with five classes, being Gastropoda the most representative with 22 species , being the most representative: Siphonaria palmata with 9.2 individuals/m², Cerithium gallapaginis with 5.0 individuals/m², Anachis rugulosa - Echinolittorina rugulosa with 11.73 and 15.22 individuals/m² and the echinoderm Echinometra vanbrunti with 21.13 individuals/m²; at the level of strata the mesolithral represented the highest abundance and diversity 43.0 % and 2.9 bits, while the lowest was in the supralittoral with 26.0 % and 0.8 bits, at the level of transects no differences were observed between zones and diversity was considered normal in a range of 2.0 - 2.4 bits. |
