| Abstract |
The distribution of fish species in the North Sea was investigated during four cruises of the German research vessel Anton Dohrn in June/July 1959, July 1960 and January 1962 and 1963. Part I (Sahrhage, 1964a) contained the results of the investigations in the summer months (1959 and 1960). Part II now completes this work by describing the distribution of more than 30 fish species in the winter months (1962 and 1963). The results are based on standard 30 minute hauls with the herring bottom trawl at 72 and 77 stations in 1962 and 1963 respectively, covering all areas of the North Sea and the eastern English Channel. Some additional information is given on the length distribution of fish and other biological characteristics. An attempt has been made to group certain species according to their distribution pattern. 28 charts showing the distribution of the various fish species are given in an Appendix. |
