Abstract
Manganese nodules are poly-metallic nodules covering an important part of the bottom of the Pacific and Indian Ocean. In these waters, economically interesting metals such as nickel, copper, cobalt and manganese are enriched with regard to the seawater and the underlying sediment. However the geochemical composition is not uniform throughout the ocean and is therefore being studied in different topographical provinces. The effect of depth, changes in structure of the nodules in one place and the geochemical pattern within one nodule are being investigated
