Abstract
    The author shows that Tselfatia is related to the Bananogmiidae but that the peculiar characters of that fish justify a special familial status, the Tselfatiidae. The Tselfatioids ( = Plethodoids) are not Osteoglossomorphs but well Elopomorphs. Protobrama does not belong to the Tselfatioids nor the Osteoglossomorphs but represents probably a highly specialized family of Esocoid Salmoniforms.
