| Abstract |
The Black striped mussel Mytilopsis sallei, a brackish water species originally described from Guatemala in Central America, is here reported from the lower part of the Qishon River, Israel. Since it is a well-known invasive species of faunistic and economic nuisance its possible spread to other Mediterranean coastal rivers in Israel and elsewhere in the Eastern Mediterranean should be regularly monitored. |
