Abstract
The fish leeches from the Antarctic have been studied most inadequately. The literature contains descriptions of 9 species from the genera Antarctobdella, Austrobdella, Cryobdella, Cryobdellina, Oxytonostoma, Pontobdella, Trachelobdellina, and Trulliobdella (Harding, 1922; Moore, 1938, 1957; Brinkmann, 1948; Dollfus, 1965; Epshtein, 1967, 1968). There are very little data on the geographical distribution and the ecology of the species. The present communication contains some information on the leeches collected by Soviet Antarctic Expeditions in 1956, 1957, 1960, 1963 and 1966. The collections contain 6 species of which two are new species.
