| Abstract |
This booklet contains a first compilation of how regional seas contribute to the implementation of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA). It is the first issue in a bi-annual series aimed at providing a comprehensive overview of progress in the implementation of the GPA by regional seas, international governmental and non-governmental organisations as well as governments and the private sector. In this issue, special attention is given to the regional seas programmes and agreements, which has been identified by Governments as the main regional framework for delivery of the GPA. The present compilation was edited by the GPA Coordination Office on the basis of the contributions received. The GPA Coordination Office is solely responsible for the content of this booklet. |
