Abstract
    Planktonic foraminifers collected from oligotrophic Banda Sea surface waters during the northwestern monsoon (April/May 1985) show five associations which correspond to measured sea surface temperatures. A sixth association reflects more eutrophic conditions east of Timor as a result of Equatorial Indian Ocean influence.
