Abstract
    The effect of UV-B irradiation on the ATP content of natural assemblages of planktonic micro-organisms in the upper 30-m water layer of the Weddell Sea (Antarctica) was studied. After five hours of irradiation with UV (290-320nm) of 1,35 W·m-2 a 75% decrease in ATP content of the micro-organisms was observed
