Abstract
    Acoustically tagged sole (Solea solea L.) and dogfish (Scyliorhinus canicula L.) were tracked off the East Anglian coast using sector scanning sonar. When displaced from their normal grounds for the time of year both fish showed selective tidal stream transport, a semi-diurnal pattern of activity. However, a sole released in the right position for the time of year showed a diurnal pattern of activity.
