Abstract
    238U concentrations and 234U-238U isotopic ratios in Zaire river and estuarine waters are presented. 238U concentrations and 234U-238U isotopic ratios in river water are low and in good agreement with Amazon river data. During estuarine mixing 238U behaves as a conservative tracer whereas there is a possible leaching of 234U from particulate matter which could provide an additional input of this nuclide to the ocean.
