| Abstract |
The grain-size characteristics of 180 beach sediment samples from the northern Kerala coast were studied to decipher the significant textural variation between the high water line and the plunge point. The plunge point sample is polymodal, moderately to poorly sorted and negatively skewed. The high waterline samples are bimodal, nearly symmetrical in their distribution and moderately sorted, whereas the mid-point samples are in the intermediate stage. CM pattern and the frequency distribution curves of mean size, standard deviation and skewness are considered useful in delineating the different units. |
