| Abstract |
Borings in the littoral marsh of Graye-sur-Mer (Calvados) have shown calcareous marine sands under Wuermian loess. The microfauna of Foraminifera and Ostracods of these sands is characteristic of supra to medio-littoral environments. These sands, laid down at the foot of a fossil cliff, probably correspond to deposits of the Eemian sea-level (stage of stabilization or beginning of a regression). We compare these sands to other ones in the same geomorphological context on the coast of the Normandy and we purpose an Eemian age for the Sands with Modiolus modiolus observed between -1 m and +5 m O.D. on the littoral of the Calvados department. |
