Abstract
    Three species of the gastropod family Mathildidae are reported from the Mediterranean Seaoff Israel: Mathilda cochleaeformis Brugnone, 1873 (= M. elegantissima auct.),M. retusa Brugnone, 1873 and M. haasi nov. spec. Mathilda elegantissima (Costa, 1861) is considered a nomen dubium.
