Abstract
Ducks can be divided into taxonomic groupings, or 'tribes' of species that look and behave alike. Some tribes consist of very closely related birds, others of more distantly related cousins. Taxonomy is still not a very exact science and, at times, positions are changed or reshuffled as further research suggests a better arrangement. In this book ducks are divided into 10 tribes.
