    The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) have jointly organised all elements of what promises to be a highly stimulating milestone Oceanology conference, featuring the 2008 Distinguished Lecture to be delivered by The Rt Hon The Lord Browne of Madingley; a scene setting plenary session; and technical and scientific presentations.

    With the overall theme ‘Technology, Sustainability and the Ocean Environment’ the conference explores the vital role of marine science and ocean technology in meeting the interlocking challenges posed by climate change, satisfying future energy needs and ensuring environmental and civil security.
