The MRC manages a set of autonomous moorings that can be equipped with a range of sensors for oceanographic observations (e.g. CTD, ADCP, etc.). Furthermore, the centre works with innovative sonar-based sensors to provide high-resolution observations of the seabed surrounding the mooring over a longer time period. The moorings are usually deployed on the seabed as stand-alone systems but can also be connected with a cable to land in fjord systems. The MRC is currently stepping up its capacity to provide the data collected by these moorings in (near-)real time.
