Abstract
The first sighting of an egg mass of the epipelagic cephalopod Thysanoteuthis rhombus is reported from the Israeli part of the Mediterranean Sea. It was observed at about 1 mile west of Mikhmoret. It is also the first record of the Diamond-shaped squid from the Levantine Sea. This record constitutes the 37th cephalopod species recorded from the Mediterranean waters of Israel.
