Abstract
    Metaloricaria is a new monotypic genus of South America Mailed Catfish related to Harttia and allied genera, distinguished principally by the shape and number of teeth, and by the shape and structure of the lips. Its type-species, Metaloricaria paucidens, is described and figured for the first time.
