Abstract |
The natatory asellotes of the family Eurycopidae often dominant collections of deep-sea isopods. The central genus of this family, Eurycope, contains a large number of morphologically diverse species, thus indicating a need for an extensive revision. This paper presents the necessary methodology and a discussion of taxonomic characters, many of which have often been ignored in recent literature. E. cornuta , the type species collected from Norway and off New England, is used as the main example. |
