Abstract
Gonadal steroid and gonadotropin hormone profiles in ranched diploid and triploid grilse were similar in males. In triploid females gonad development was retarded and sex steroid levels remained low compared to maturing diploid grilse in September. Gonadotropin I levels were significantly higher in triploid females during this period.
