Abstract |
Groups of Atlantic halibut broodstock were fed different pelleted diets with varying PUFA composition (Standard, Enhanced DHA and Enhanced AA), and their spawning performance compared with a further group fed a moist diet based on trash fish components. Lipids transferred to the eggs were analysed. Spawning performance (Relative Fecundity, Fertilization rate, Blastomere morphology and Hatching rate) of fish on the Enhanced DHA pelleted diet was comparable to those on the moist diet, and improved when fed Enhanced AA. Transfer of AA to the eggs, unlike DHA, correlated with AA levels in the diets. |
