Abstract
    To clarify the molecular mechanism regulating the initiation of spermatogenesis, we isolated cyclin B1 and B2 cDNA and examined the expression of both cyclin B mRNA, protein and cyclin B/cdc2 kinase activity during spermatogenesis after the initiation of spermatogenesis by the hormonal induction. Cyclin B1 and B2 mRNA levels increased after the initiation of spermatogenesis and during spermatogonial proliferation. Change in H1 kinase activity of cyclin B1/cdc2 and cyclin B2/cdc2 showed that both displayed activity after the initiation of spermatogonial proliferation.
