Abstract |
Radioimmunoassays were used to determine the time-course of release of sex steroids by male and female roach at various stages of maturity. In response to Carp Pituitary Extract (CPE), sexually mature male and female fish released substantial amounts of free 17,20 beta -P and glucuronidated 17,20 beta -P and 17,20 beta , 21-P. Immature fish released significantly lower concentrations of 17,20 beta -P compared to reproductively mature males and females. |
