Abstract
The yearly gonadal cycles of two deep-water fish species from the East coast of Greece (Ionian Sea), armed gurnard (Peristedion cataphractum) and silver roughy (Hoplostethus mediterraneus) were assessed by measuring the gonadosomatic index (GSI) as well as the hepatosomatic index (HSI), in both sexes. Furthermore, the percentage of mature specimens at different times of the year was calculated for both sexes.
