Abstract
-Mibora minima is found in a new location, at the cemetery of Steenbrugge (Assebroek, Prov. of West-F1anders, Belgium). All the new mentions of Mibora minima since the map by VAN ROMPAEY & DELVOSALLE (1979) and the non published data from the herbaria of GENT and BR have been added to the ones previously known, in a new distribution map (3). Relevés were made in Assebroek and in two other sites with Mibora, known from the literature (DECLERCQ 1982, VAN LANDUYT 1992). They were compared to each other and to relevés of two sets of literature relevés (V ANHECKE & CLARYSSE 1975, HERMY 1983) and also to a non published relevé of a sixth site by Ph. Julve. As far as we know, all Belgian relevés with Mibora minima are considered. A TWINSPAN-classification stresses mainly the difference between the more natural habitat with Mibora minima (Ghyvelde) and the more anthropogenically influenced sites with Mibora. We consider Mibora minima as a native species for Belgium, although its position is that of a species at the edge of its natural distribution area. Mibora minima is found in Belgium on slightly acid to neutral, sandy soils or quartz gravel. The cover of the vegetation varies from 10 to 90%. The species is found on either flat soils or slopes. There is a wide range of aspects possible, but the protection to the north sometimes is striking. MiboraMibora minima in Belgium. Mibora is depending on biotopes with a "management" of doing nothing in winter. Its disappearing and reappearing an several places suggests the existence of a permanent seed bank.
