Abstract |
Mysids collected on the coast of Departamento del Magdalena, Colombia, in April-May 1971 with a light detritus sledge, by diving with small hand net, or by washing of corals etc. have been examined. The following new species are described and figured: Erythrops parva sp. nov., Erythrops sp. A, Mysidopsis ankeli sp. nov., M. cultrata sp. nov., M. taironana sp. nov., M. velifera sp. nov., Mysidopsis sp. A., Mysidopsis sp. B, and Mysidella minuta sp. nov. The following species, all new to the area, are recorded: Siriella chierchiae Colfmann, Bowmaniella sp., Anchialina typica typica (Kröyer), Amathimysis gibba Brattegard, Brasilomysis castroi Băcescu, Metamysidopsis swifti Băcescu, Mysidopsis mortenseni W. M. Tattersall, M. robustispina Brattegard, M. tortonesi Băcescu, Promysis atlantica W. M. Tattersall, Parvimysis bahamensis Brattegard, Mysidium integrum W. M. Tattersall, Heteromysis bermudensis G. O. Sars, and H. mayana Brattegard. Mysidium columbiae (Zimmer) is also recorded. Data on occurrence, geographical distribution, bathymetric distribution, relation to substrate, breeding, brood size, and concomitant species are given. |
