Abstract
This paper presents a way to minimize costs in shipbuilding industry by using the results of a data mining analysis timing to improve knowledge of the additional costs engendered by welding distortions. The presented analyses have exploited production data to establish formulations of-the Supplementary costs of steel working and straightening operations in function of welding distortions. Moreover, a complementary analysis based oil the previous formulas has permitted to realise an economic comparison of post welding techniques aiming to reduce residual deformations.
