Abstract
Laingolide (1), a novel 15-membered macrolide containing a lactam group was isolated from the blue-green alga Lyngbya bouillonii, collected on Laing Island (Papua-New Guinea). Its structure (without stereochemistry) was established by a detailed high-field 1D and 2D NMR study.
