Abstract
As part of the MAST3-COSINUS European Project, various flocculation models were tested against settling velocity measurements also undertaken as part of the same project and obtained during a comprehensive field data exercise that place in Calstock in the Tamar Estuary, UK. Based on the ability of each of the flocculation models to reproduce the observed data set conclusions are drawn regarding their applicability in applied modelling. Further investigation is made into the possibility of using suspended sediment profiling and the Rouse profile theory for estimating settling velocity.
