Abstract
A selection of ecophysiological problems, excluding pollution, considered by other authors, are outlined. Some fields are well in hand while others such as tropical brackish water research are still almost untouched. It is anticipated that the multidisciplinary attitude towards brackish water research adopted in recent years will develop further, and this will result in a revaluation of many biological phenomena, which are too complicated to be understood through mono-disciplinary approaches.
